Board of Trustees Elected for The Washington Place at St. Barnabas

Gibsonia, Pa. - June 22, 2005 - A new board of trustees was recently elected for The Village at St. Barnabas Inc., a 252-unit apartment community for independent retirees. The Village is part of St. Barnabas Health System's St. Barnabas Communities, which also includes The Washington Place at St. Barnabas and The Woodlands at St. Barnabas.

Serving as trustees for The Village at St. Barnabas Inc. are:

  • Kathleen M. Seaton of Pine Township, chairwoman. A real estate professional for 28 years, Seaton is a Senior Sales Associate with RE/MAX Select Realty. She is a long-time member of St. Barnabas Charities' Community Advisory Committee. She serves on St. Barnabas' Founder's Day planning committee and frequently advises incoming St. Barnabas residents on how to most effectively sell their homes and downsize for a move to an apartment.


  • Douglas W. Day of Richland Township, president. Employed by St. Barnabas for more than 17 years, Day has worked his way through the ranks and also serves as Senior Vice President of St. Barnabas Health System. In that capacity, he oversees the operations, administrative and personnel decisions of the St. Barnabas Communities. He is particularly involved with the St. Barnabas Communities' growth plans, focusing on The Woodlands at St. Barnabas, which is a growing community of carriage homes in Valencia borough, Butler County. Day also serves as President of St. Barnabas Medical Center Inc., a multi-specialty outpatient medical center. Day holds a bachelor of arts degree from Westminster College and is actively involved in several professional and civic organizations.


  • Michael Antonelli of North Huntingdon, Secretary. Antonelli has served as Director of the St. Barnabas Communities since 2002, overseeing extensive expansion and remodeling projects. He also oversees the maintenance, housekeeping, food service and resident relations departments. A licensed Nursing Home Administrator, he previously was associate director of The Fountains at Lake Pointe Woods in Sarasota, Fla. He holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Pittsburgh.


  • Richard Kaminsky of Peters Township, Treasurer. Kaminsky is vice president of Southwest Subway Inc., a franchise of Subway Restaurants, and is chairman of the Pittsburgh market for Subway Advertising Fund Trust. He holds a bachelor of science degree in music education from Duquesne University and is a former North Allegheny School District teacher. He was a professional musician for several years and served as vice president of Ken Hill Productions Inc., a theatrical booking agency. He has served on St. Barnabas' Community Advisory Committee for many years and formerly was president of the Peters Township Swim Club and served on the advisory board for the Peters Township Recreation Department.


The Village at St. Barnabas in Richland Township is a community of 252 one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments anchored by an indoor mall filled with a restaurant, pub, country store, bank, travel agency, hair salon, library, chapel, post office, auditorium and more. Outdoor amenities include a parkette with a gazebo, putting green and pond. Across the street is the luxurious Kean Theatre, which showcases top-notch concerts and plays.
