St. Barnabas to Host Poker Run and Car Cruise
Gibsonia, Pa. - May 6, 2009 - Car enthusiasts are invited to participate in the fourth annual Pennies for Patients Poker Run and Car Cruise on Sunday, May 17. The registration fee is $10 per hand and will benefit St. Barnabas Charities' Pennies for Patients campaign, which aims to raise more than 3 million pennies to benefit poor and low-income patients at St. Barnabas Nursing Home, Valencia Woods at St. Barnabas and The Arbors at St. Barnabas.
Participants will visit four hosts along the Route 8/Richland Township area, receiving a playing card at each stop. The goal is to draw a winning poker hand and prizes will be awarded at the final destination, where an entertaining car cruise will take place.
"Our club decided to organize the poker run and cruise because it's a perfect way to support a very worthwhile local charity while enjoying our passion for Corvettes and other cars," said Bob Cirilli, chairman and coordinator of the Pittsburgh Tri-State Chapter of the National Corvette Restoration Society. "It promises to be a fun day and I encourage anyone who enjoys cars to come out and participate."
