Pennies for Patients to Kick Off With 'Coins for Care Day'
Area restaurants will help raise funds for St. Barnabas Charities

Gibsonia, Pa. - Feb. 3, 2006 - The Pennies for Patients campaign will kickoff on Wednesday, Feb. 8 with a "Coins for Care Day." Local area restaurants will donate 10 percent of sales that day to the Pennies for Patients campaign, which aims to raise 2 million pennies to support the poor and needy patients at St. Barnabas Nursing Home, Valencia Woods at St. Barnabas and The Arbors at St. Barnabas.

Pennies for Patients is in its ninth year and operates under the motto "Pennies do Count." The campaign encourages school children, families and others to collect spare change for the needy patients at St. Barnabas Nursing Home, Valencia Woods at St. Barnabas and The Arbors at St. Barnabas. The Pennies for Patients campaign is part of St. Barnabas Charities' ongoing efforts to raise money for the St. Barnabas Free Care Fund. In 2005 alone, the fund provided more than $6.29 million to St. Barnabas patients. For additional information about Pennies for Patients, call (724) 444-5521.
