"Kean Idol" Announces Finalists From Vocal Round Three
Gibsonia, Pa. - March 16, 2006 - The third round of Kean Idol vocal competition
was held on Sunday, March 12 at 1 p.m. Bob Logue, former radio personality on KDKA's
"Undercover Club" served as emcee. A panel of three judges selected the top five vocal
finalists from round three. They are Kristin Carmella of Cranberry Township; Heather Geiger
of Irwin; Rachel Miller of Oakdale.; Crystal Sanford of New Kensington; and Samantha Sweeney
of Wexford. The audience members voted among the five finalists choosing Samantha Sweeney as
the winner of Round Three - Kean Idol.
These five finalists will move on to the vocal championships on Saturday, March 25 at 7 p.m. at the
Kean Theatre, 5847 Meridian Road, Gibsonia. More than 60 Kean Idol vocalists will compete in
rounds four and five on Sunday, March 19 at 1 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Tickets to the Kean Idol are
$10 for adults and $6 for students under 12, available at the door. Proceeds from ticket sales
will benefit the St. Barnabas Free Care Fund, which in 2005 provided more than $6.29 million to
needy patients at St. Barnabas Nursing Home, Valencia Woods at St. Barnabas and The Arbors at
St. Barnabas who otherwise would not be able to afford their care.
