Johnny Angel & The Halos is one of the Pittsburgh area's most legendary acts. The band traces its history back 40 years, when the original members sang a capella on the street corners of the North Side. Since then, the band has undergone many changes in membership and has performed with many of the greatest names of the 1950s, '60s and '70s, including Frankie Valli, Little Richard, Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis and Ray Charles to name a few. Today, composed of 10 gifted singers/musicians, the band is known for its magnificent harmonies and high-energy, entertaining performances. The Kean Theatre's intimate 350-seat setting guarantees each audience member the chance to see this Pittsburgh tradition up close. Johnny Angel himself calls the Kean Theatre "home."

Johnny Angel & The Halos is the first of three bands performing as the Kean Theatre's seventh annual Summer of Fun Oldies Series. Other acts in the series are Pure Gold at 8 p.m. Saturday, July 11, and The Fabulous Hubcaps at 8 Saturday, Aug. 8. A ticket for all three shows is available at a special rate of $86. Priced separately, Pure Gold is $29 and The Fabulous Hubcaps are $39.
