Joe Grushecky and the Houserockers Hit the Kean Theatre
Legendary rock and roll at its finest

Gibsonia, Pa. - Jan. 17, 2006 - Joe Grushecky and the Houserockers, one of the Pittsburgh region's top rock and roll bands will perform at 8 p.m. Saturday, March 4 at the Kean Theatre, 5847 Meridian Road. Joe Grushecky & the Houserockers have been making American blue-collar rock that draws on classic R&B. He has recorded five albums, even with a little help with co-writer Bruce Springsteen. Grushecky started his career forming the Iron City Houserockers in 1979 when they released their debut album, "Love's So Tough." But perhaps Grushecky's most well-known release is "American Babylon." He has shared the stage with Springsteen, Bon Jovi, Southside, The E Street Band and many others.

Grushecky is a musician, singer, songwriter, record producer, music arranger, recording artist, and he leads what's been described as "one of the best bar bands in America." Music critics place him among the best rock and rollers ever. In addition to Grushecky on vocals and guitar, the Houserockers current lineup includes Art Nardini on bass, Bill Toms on guitar, Joffo Simmons on drums, Joe Pelesky on keyboard, Marc Reisman on harmonica and percussionist Bernie Herr. The Kean Theatre's intimate setting guarantees each audience member the chance to see these legendary performers up close.

Upcoming performances include The PovertyNeck Hillbillies on Friday, April 21 & Saturday, April 22; "Catch Me if You Can" on Friday, May 12 and Saturday, May 13; and Johnny Angel and The Halos on Saturday, May 20. The Kean Theatre is open to the public and has built a reputation for its convenient location, free parking, quality entertainment and elegant setting. The theatre is operated by St. Barnabas Charities, the fund-raising arm of St. Barnabas Health System.
