Billy Price to Perform at Kean Theatre Nov. 4
Gibsonia, Pa. - Sept. 12, 2006 - Billy Price, the top name in the Pittsburgh blues scene for more than 35 years, will perform at the Kean Theatre for the first time at 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4. Tickets are $29, available by calling 724-444-KEAN (5326) or by visiting www.keantheatre.com.
Price is the former lead vocalist with Roy Buchanan and the founder of Billy Price & the Keystone Rhythm Band. He has been entertaining Pittsburgh and East Coast audiences for more than 35 years with his brand of blues, rhythm and blues, and deep soul music. The Billy Price Band began in 1990. Current members are Lenny Smith, Paul Thompson, Jimmy Britton, Dave Dodd, Rick Matt, Eric DeFade and Joe Herndon. The Billy Price Band's new CD, "East End Avenue," was released in June 2006.
Proceeds from Billy Price's concert at the Kean Theatre benefit the St. Barnabas Free Care Fund, which in 2005 alone provided more than $6.29 million to patients at St. Barnabas Nursing Home, Valencia Woods at St. Barnabas and The Arbors at St. Barnabas who otherwise would not be able to afford their care. The concert at the Kean is sponsored by UPMC Health Plan, an Oscar-level sponsor of the Kean Theatre; Armstrong, a Grammy-level sponsor of the Kean Theatre; and Citizens Bank and Butler County Radio Network, both Tony-level sponsors.
The Kean Theatre is open to the public and has built a reputation for its convenient location, free parking, quality entertainment and elegant setting. The theatre is operated by St. Barnabas Charities, the fund-raising arm of St. Barnabas Health System. The Health System also includes St. Barnabas Nursing Home, Valencia Woods at St. Barnabas, The Arbors at St. Barnabas, The Village at St. Barnabas, The Woodlands at St. Barnabas, The Washington Place at St. Barnabas, and St. Barnabas Medical Center. Theatre proceeds benefit the St. Barnabas Free Care Fund.
