Runners are timed using a ChampionChip device provided by The Runner's High Timing Services and the course is certified by USA Track and Field. Trophies are awarded to the top three male and female finishers overall, as well as the top three males and females in 14 age categories. Corporate teams of up to five runners are encouraged to participate and trophies will be awarded to the top three teams. The St. Barnabas Medical Center 5K has earned a reputation as one of the finest 5Ks in the Pittsburgh region, due in large part to its post-race party featuring live entertainment, free pizza and chicken wings and beer.
