Cosmetic dentistry is the art and science of creating beautiful smiles.
New cosmetic dental procedures, technologies and materials allow
us to give you just about any smile you desire. We can correct pre-existing
conditions, such as crooked teeth; or if the shape, size or color
of your teeth bothers you we can correct that too! We can also close
gaps and improve the alignment of your teeth using crowns, bridges,
and porcelain veneers.
Porcelain Crowns
All porcelain crowns are the most aesthetic, natural-looking teeth
available. They are perfect in color, shape and clarity. These elite
tooth restorations are beautifully translucent and made with the
finest materials available.
Cosmetic Veneers (Laminates)
Veneers, also known as laminates, are thin shells that cover the
front of the teeth. Using ultra-thin porcelain veneers, the size,
shape and color of your teeth can be changed.
Cosmetic Bonding and
Tooth Restorations
Cosmetic dentistry offers many restorative materials other than
silver amalgam. Tooth-colored materials provide strong, aesthetic,
wear-resistant restorations. Cosmetic bonding can fill gaps between
teeth and restore chipped or broken teeth.
Teeth Whitening
Whitening is probably the most well-known treatment in cosmetic dentistry.
Whitening is done to lighten teeth that are stained or discolored.
New advances in cosmetic dental technology allow us to safely and
dramatically whiten teeth.
Dental Implants
Implants are the perfect solutions for people with missing teeth.
As an alternative to traditional bridges or dentures, dental implants
allow individual teeth to be replaced, without altering or grinding
down the adjacent teeth. They can be placed with the existing denture
that secures it tightly like natural teeth.
A dental implant is like an artificial tooth root that takes over
the function of a real root. When a natural root is lost, it can be
replaced with a dental implant. Implants are usually made of titanium,
are very durable and are well accepted by the human body. Dental
implants are becoming a popular alternative to traditional bridges
and dentures. After dental implants are placed and the jawbone has
healed, a denture, crown or bridge, can be built
on top of them. Benefits of dental implants include comfort, health
and beauty and confidence in daily living.
Periodontics
Periodontists are dental specialists with advanced training in Periodontics, which is the diagnosis and treatment of gum disease (such as gingivitis and periodontitis) and other gum problems. They also provide dental implants, the most natural replacement for missing teeth.
As gum disease (periodontitis) can often lead to tooth loss, it is important to see a periodontist immediately if you have symptoms such as: bad breath (halitosis), bleeding gums, receding gums, loose or shifting teeth. For more information on periodontics visit Dr.
Silberg’s
website.
Prosthodontics
Prosthodontics is the branch of dentistry pertaining to the restoration
and maintenance of oral function, comfort, appearance, and health
of the patient by the restoration of natural teeth and/or the replacement
of missing teeth. Prosthetic dentistry involves the use of dental
implants, full and partial dentures, denture repairs, crowns and
bridges.
DDS System™
The DDS System™ lets you eat less food by retraining you to
take smaller bites. The DDS is a discreet oral appliance that allows
the “satiety
response,” the feeling of being content that makes us want
to stop eating, time to kick in. The device looks similar to a retainer
a patient typically wears after having dental braces removed. Like
a retainer, it is custom fitted. However, while the DDS fits snugly
to the roof of the mouth, it is thicker than a typical retainer.
It therefore restricts the amount of food that can be consumed with
each bite. The DDS can be carried in a purse or pocket and discreetly
inserted before meals and removed after meals.
